How to find the facing

Identify the property’s facing facade; the entrance door may face another direction. Use a magnetic compass and repeat readings away from metal and electrical interference. Readings that span different sectors need clarification.

Each direction has three 15° sectors. For example, S2 lies between 172.5° and 187.5°; N2 crosses North between 352.5° and 7.5°. Exact boundaries stay unresolved. A broad N or E choice needs its numbered sector.

For apartments, supply a reliably established property facing. This tool does not choose between the apartment and building facade. If you are unsure, use the annual chart while confirming the facing.

Calculation method and limits

Regular 24-Mountain Flying Stars · construction completion, magnetic North, South at the top and East on the left. The base layer flies forward; sitting/facing layers use the published sub-sector polarity, with central 5 borrowing the house period. Annual stars change at Li Chun.

Replacement/special charts, renovation-based period reassignment, remedies and a Tian Yi overlay are outside this tool. A sector-only selection does not establish whether a property needs a special chart.
